How We PDL In The Spring

If you like bikes, shirts, and getting packages in the mail from rad people, PDL Shirt Club from TC Screen Printing out of Northwest Arkansas has you covered on all three. Every month, they’ll send you a super soft t-shirt featuring an original design with a focus on cycling culture or advocacy. It will quickly become your favorite tee until you get a new shirt the following month. Then you’ll have two favorite tees. Then three… four… five… And I’m writing this from experience because admittedly, I’ve never actually been someone who is terribly excited about t-shirts, but how can you not love a tee that’s got a helmet on it proclaiming “The Revolution Will Not Be Motorized?” As an aside, because I’ve been asked about it recently (twice in one day no less), that’s a reference to vehicles, not e-bikes.
I’ve never been much of a shirt modifier either, but I’ve started taking the scissor to a few of the PDL Shirt Club tees that I’ve had for a while. I’ve turned some into tanks by cutting off the sleeves and others have lost their bottom halves to become crop tops. As an added bonus, taking away some fabric means I can fit new shirts in my van closet because Dan and I still finding ways to have the new designs shipped to us on the road. I’ve also left a few of the tees just the way they are because I like how they look tucked into a pair of jean shorts. For someone who wasn’t partial to t-shirts, I can’t imagine not having my PDLs along to show off the bike love that brings so many of us together.
A monthly shirt subscription will cost you $12 a month with $1 from every subscription, every month, going into the PDL Fund, which supports cycling infrastructure and advocacy projects nationwide. You can follow the PDL Shirt Club Instagram to get a look at the shirt of the month you’ll be getting in the mail or, if you’re into surprises, follow the page, but mute the posts so you won’t know what you’re getting until the shirt arrives. Either way, it’s like unwrapping a birthday present every month.
Cheers, Zu
